The term machine learning was first introduced by Arthur Samuel in 1959. Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence (AI) that involves using algorithms and data to simulate the way humans learn and improve their performance over time.
The idea behind the machine learning is to make a machine learn from historical data, experiences like a human does, predicts or takes the decision without being explicitly programmed and learn itself from past data and automatically improve.
Machine learning programs can learn from data, such as images or text, to make predictions or identify patterns. The more data they are given, the better they can learn and make accurate predictions.
It's like teaching a child how to identify animals by showing them pictures and telling them the names of the animals. Over time, the child will become better at recognizing animals and can identify them even when shown new pictures. Similarly, with machine learning, we feed computers large amounts of data and algorithms that allow them to learn from that data and make predictions or decisions based on it.
Today, world is full of data and it is growing day by day. Human being has a limit to grasp and experience th data but machine does not. Therefore, machine learning helps computers to "think" and "learn" like humans, enabling them to make predictions and solve complex problems beyond any boundaries.
Nowadays, there are many companies who are using the machine learning technologies and are in very initial stage. If we take can example of chapgpt, it is introduced late last year i.e. 2022 and is very efficient though it is on very initial phase and will resolve many complex problems in coming days efficiently.
